Hi—I'm Jim Messina, once dubbed “The Obama White House Fixer.” As campaign manager, I led President Obama’s 2012 re‑election—a race that Bloomberg called “the highest‑wattage crash course in executive management ever undertaken”. In the White House, I served as Deputy Chief of Staff for Operations and helped guide key wins, including the Affordable Care Act, the economic stimulus act, and the repeal of “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell.”

In 2013, I founded The Messina Group (TMG), where we help corporate, advocacy, and political organizations win big using data‑driven, campaign‑style strategies. We’ve achieved wins across five continents for a diverse range of clients, including Fortune 100 companies, tech startups, and over a dozen Presidents and prime ministers.

Here at The Messina Memo, I’ll bring in other experts from TMG to share their insights, drawing on their decades of experience around the globe.

When I’m not working on my ranch or fishing in Montana (Go GRIZ!!), I sit on boards of some truly incredible organizations doing fantastic work, including Blockchain.com, LanzaTech, Fortera, Vectra.ai, the U.S. Soccer Foundation, The Montana Land Reliance, and The Wilderness Society. And last but not least, I’m also a minority owner of the UK’s best football club: Leeds United—March on together!!
